# Packing List for Char Dham Yatra
Your packing list will make or break your Char Dham experience. This high-altitude circuit poses continuous changing weather.
Clothing
- **Thermals:** Carry at least 2 pairs of warm thermal innerwear. Night temperatures in Kedarnath and Badrinath drop significantly.
- **Layers:** Use a multi-layer clothes strategy. T-shirts, followed by sweaters/fleece, and topped with a windproof/waterproof jacket.
- **Socks:** 4-5 pairs of woolen and cotton socks. A fresh pair is a luxury after walking in the rain.
Gear and Footwear
- **Trekking Shoes:** Invest in waterproof shoes with ankle support. Break them in before the trip to avoid blisters.
- **Trekking Pole / Stick:** Extremely helpful during the steep ascents and descents of Yamunotri and Kedarnath.
- **Sturdy Backpack:** Keep your stuff in a rucksack rather than a trolley.
